- Eid ul Fitr Celebration (4/30/2021) - Eid ul Fitr 2021 will be celebrated on Thursday, May 13, 2021 consistent with the decades of tradition following Islamic society of North America (isna.net). Masjid Doors will open at 8:00 am Plan A: There will be one Eid ul Fitr prayer at 9:00 am accommodating approximately 130 people inside plus outside behind the masjid House assuming weather cooperates. Plan B: Only in case of inclement weather there will be two Eid ul Fitr prayers at 9:00 and 10:00 am. Inside. Children under 12 are not allowed. No food is allowed in the mosque and the kitchen will remain closed. Suggested Fitra is $10 per person please drop it in the box beforeEid ul Fitr prayer. Strictly no socialization inside the Masjid or in the parking lot before or after Eid ul Fitr prayer. Please drop your donations in the Masjid drop box for Travi Imam, Masjid fund, Membership, Zakat and Sadaka with a note. Carpool is highly recommended. Men and women will enter from the Front Door, Emergency Exits will remain locked from outside to be used as Emergency Exits. Guidelines for the Mosque Utilization During Ramadan 2021will remain in effect:Main worship hall will remain locked (as it is now) during Ramadan due to Covid related health hazard.Daily prayers will continue except Maghrib prayers. Maghrib prayers will not be held during Ramadan so people can break their fasts at home instead of the mosque. No food will be allowed in the mosque and kitchen will remail closed during Ramadan, Water bottles will be available outside the kitchen.Traveeh prayers will only be held in the multiple multipurpose hall. Women will use the kitchen side door and men will use the main entrance to enter the multiple purpose hall.Bathrooms will be opened temporarily during Traveeh prayers. Otherwise, they will remain closed.No Children under 12 will be allowed in the mosque during Traveeh. It is parents’ responsibility to comply with these guidelines.
- Eid Ul Adha 2020 Prayers (7/29/2020) - As Salam o Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa BarakatThe Islamic Association of Shenandoah Valley (IASV) opened its doors to the public for daily congregational prayers on June 6th, 2020 . Alhumdillah, through the grace and mercy of Allah SWT, we were able to keep our doors open providing daily congregational prayers and later, weekly Jummah. Alhamdullillah, your patience and support has given us the confidence to hold the Eid ul Adha Prayers at our Social Hall and Parking Lot facility, In Shaa Allah on Friday, July 31.In Sha Allah, to this effect, IASV will be hosting Two Eid prayers, 7:00 AM, and 9:00 AM. It is imperative that all individuals wear masks once they exit their vehicle and utilize a prayer mat. This is very important to ensure the safety of our congregants and prevent outbreaks.Our capacity within the IASV Social Hall ( 62 spots) and Parking Lot (68 Spots) is approx 130 spots all together per prayer. - Coronavirus Cancellations (3/12/2020) - Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh, We pray that this message finds all of you in the best of health and strong imaan. Ameen. Per the directives of Virginia Gov. Northam, and out of basic Islamic Fiqh that preserving life is paramount, We want to alert all of you to some significant changes to IASV Events and Services in the coming days. As of now, the following events have been CANCELED until further notice: Friday Jumuah Prayers – Both. All School, including Saturday, Sunday, and Thursdays. All committee meetings outside of the Board. All regularly scheduled Halaqas. All sporting events, including Social Hall use. All Social Hall and Chairs rentals. All Dinner Events. All Youth Group events. IASV is canceling in-person Jumuah prayers. Do NOT come to IASV for Jumuah. All congregants are advised to pray Dhuhr at home or work.
